Creating memories

playing in fall leaves

Think back to your childhood memories...  Where do you go in your mind to your "safe spot'?

When I ask people to do this exercise, most of the time, their most precious memories come from a place where they were feeling connected to something greater than themselves, and they were of course: outdoors.

Today's generation of children has so much going on.  There is little time for exploration, for their sense of connectedness to happen.  What will our children remember when they are aldults? Those great hours spent playing WII?

It is more difficult as parents to get the children all geared up and head outside rather than having them sit in front of a screen, we will all agree with that.  However it is of utmost importance to make that effort for our children.  We are designed to move, to breathe fresh air and to see green.
